Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla and Vice Governor Jolo Revilla recently welcomed Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, who led the launching of the first Malasakit Center in the province on Jan. 22 at the Korea Philippines Friendship Hospital in Trece Martires City.

The Malasakit Center is a one-stop shop of government services instituted for the purpose of expediting processes in availing services relevant to healthcare like medical and financial assistance in coordination with the Department of Health, Philippine Health Insurance Corp., Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

It brings government services closer to the poor and marginalized members of society with priority given to senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

The Malasakit Center will ensure financial risk protection and alleviate the burden of indigent families who availed health services in public hospitals.

Also in attendance during the launching were Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino, Presidential Assistant for the Visayas, Cavite 6th District Rep. Jonjon Ferrer, 3rd District Rep. Alex “AA” Advincula, Cavite Board Members Kherby Salazar, Ivy Jayne Reyes, Lito Langit and Virgilio Varias, Trece Martires City Mayor Gemma Lubigan with the city’s councilors, Dr. Nelson Soriano, Dr. Aldous Angeles, and some doctors, nurses and other medical personnel from the Provincial Health Office headed by Dr. Romulo Lua.
