AMADOR Leaño Tolentino, Sr., a retired Master Teacher 2 of Pinili, Ilocos Norte, died in his hometown on Monday. He was 92.
Tolentino, who taught for 28 years at the Pugaoan-Bungro Elementary School in Pinili until his retirement in 1990, left behind the former Serafina Blanco Zafaralla, his college classmate and wife of 63 years.
They have five children: Jocelyn (+); Maria Victoria (+) [husband Bruce Metcalf]; Eduardo [wife Grace], an engineer based in Carcar City, Cebu; Amador Jr. [wife Beng Salomon, an AVP at BPI Makati], lawyer and senior partner of the Law Firm Tolentino Corvera Macasaet and Reig in Metro Manila; and Leilani, president of Amasera Holdings Inc.
They have nine grandchildren.
Tolentino Sr., born in Pallas, Vintar, Ilocos Norte, finished his elementary education degree from the Ilocos Norte Normal College in Laoag where he met Serafina whom he married in 1960 after graduation.
Serafina herself is a retired Head teacher III and an active officer of the Senior Citizens Organization of their hometown while her husband spent his retirement years supervising their Pinili farm.
The funeral has been scheduled for Sunday, September 24, at the municipal cemetery after the 9.30 am
