A 42-year-old farmer was gunned down by his 50-year-old neighbor during a heated confrontation in Sitio Looban, Barangay Lutucan Malabag, Sariaya, Quezon, on Sunday night, Feb. 12.
The victim was identified by the police as Jerome Dumdumaya.
According to the investigation, at about 11:30 p.m., the suspect, a vegetable vendor named Manolito An, got into a fight with the victim’s wife, and the victim went to his house to confront him about it.
During their argument, the suspect drew his firearm and repeatedly shot Dumdumaya.
While the victim was being transported to the Quezon Medical Center in Lucena City, where he was later pronounced dead early on Monday, Feb. 13, the alleged murderer fled on a motorcycle with the murder weapon.
He was headed in the direction of Barangays Montecillo and Manggalang 1 at the time.
Four 9-mm cartridge cases were found by investigators at the crime scene.
Sariaya policemen are still in pursuit of the suspect. Benjie Antioquia
