Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya—The Department of Labor and Employment and the provincial government here will be employing 1,000 workers in the province this year through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program.

DOLE chief Joseph Sales said the job employment program was funded with P3.6 million by the LPGMA Partylist which will provide P360.00 wage per day for the beneficiaries.

He added that the workers will be provided with basic orientations on safety and health, personal protective gears, and enrolment in group micro-insurance before their actual work.

“This is part of the total project cost of the TUPAD program for our Novo Vizcayanos,” he added.

This community-based package of assistance provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed, Sales further said.
