CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna—Calabarzon Police Regional Director Chief Supt. Ma O Aplasca has personally extended financial assistance to two members of the Nasugbu Municipal Police, who were wounded in a buy-bust operation that preceded an encounter at Barangay Lumbangan, Nasugbu, Batangas on Good Friday.
“‹Aplasca visited PO1 Joseph Sagucio Martinez and PO2 Jimmy Guevarra Ilao at Apacible Memorial District Hospital in Nasugbu to hand over the cash aid to the wounded policemen. Ilao and Martinez are members of the Drug Enforcement Team of the Nasugbu Police.
“‹The DET members conducted the buy-bust against drug suspect Gilbert Cudiamat, who fired on the team after sensing that the poseur-buyer was a police officer.
The suspect sustained gunshot wounds that caused his death, while Ilao sustained stab wounds on his left hand and left foot. Martinez also sustained a gunshot wound on his left thigh.
“I would like to commend these brave and strong men who just risked their lives in the performance of their duties. Your actions are worth emulating,” Aplasca told the policemen.
The regional director assured the families of the wounded policemen of his office’s continuous support while they undergo medical treatment.
