Caloocan LGU awards outstanding Northern Police District officers

The City Government of Caloocan, led by Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan, gave recognition to the outstanding uniformed personnel of the Northern Police District (NPD) in the City of Caloocan.

The awarding ceremony was led by People’s Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) in Caloocan City Hall – South on the December 13, 2022.

A total of 19 police officers received a Certificate of Commendation for successfully conducting an entrapment operation last October 18 which resulted to the arrest of a certain Ruben Bonifacio Gabagat, a 67-year-old suspect, who violated Article 315 and Article 172 of the Revised Penal Code also known as estafa or swindling; falsification by private individual and use of falsified documents.

Mayor Along commended the law enforcement officers for their immediate action in arresting the said suspect who was pretending to be a lawyer to extort money from his victims.

He emphasized that such acts shall not be condoned and likewise expressed his gratitude to the police for their hard work and dedication, and called for their continuous cooperation and support to ensure justice, peace and order in the city.

“Ang inyong mabilis na pag-aksyon upang mahuli at hindi na muling makapambiktima ang suspek na nagpapanggap bilang isang abogado para mangikil ng pera sa kapwa, ay tunay na kahanga-hanga. Hindi po nation papayagan ang anumang uri ng pang lalamang o pagsasamantala sa atinglungsod,” the Mayor said.

“Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong dedikasyon at pagsisikap. Patuloy po tayong magkaisa at magtulungan na siguraduhing may katarungan , kaayusan at kapayapaan sa ating lungsod.” he added.

Meanwhile, PLEB Officer in Charge, Atty. Benjamin Roque stated that they will not stop in prioritizing the needs of the uniformed personnel and conduct training and seminars to capacitate them in providing services to the public. He also assured that they will continue to recognize their exemplary service.

“Hindi po tayo titigil sa pagtutok sa inyong mga pangangailangan at as pagpapalawak ng inyong kapasidad sa pagbibigay ng serbisyo sa ating mamamayan. Patuloy din po nating kikilalanin at pararangalan and inyong pagiging huwaran,” Atty. Roque said.

The local chief executive congratulated the awardees and called for their continuous provision of genuine service from the heart for the welfare and well-being of everyone. Mayor Along Malapitan also wished for them to serve as an inspiration to their co-workers in enforcing the law and protecting lives.

“Binabati ko po ang bawat-isa sa inyo. Ipagpatuloy niyo po ang pagbibigay ng serbisyong mula sa puso para sa kabutihan at kapakanan
ng ating mga kababayan. Nawa’y magsilbing inspirasyon po kayo sa inyong kapwa tagapangalaga sa buhay at kaligtasan ng bawat Batang Kankaloo,” the Mayor stated.
