Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan congratulated the 269 applicants who were hired on-the-spot in the Mega Job Fair conducted by the Public Employment and Service Office (PESO) this Wednesday, October 19, at 3/F Bulwagang Katipunan, Caloocan City Hall-South.
“Congratulations po sa ating mga kababayang na-hired on-the-spot! Galingan niyo po sa inyong magiging trabaho at ipakita niyo ang husay ng mga Batang Kankaloo,” the Mayor said.
He likewise expressed his appreciation to PESO, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the agencies who partnered with the city government in providing opportunities for its residents.
“Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng katuwang natin sa programang ito. Nalampasan na po natin ang target nating 10,000 oportunidad at patuloy itong nadaragdagan dahil sa tulong ng DOLE at ng mga employers na kasama natin ngayon,” Mayor Along said.
According to PESO Officer-in-charge Ms. Violeta Gonzales, to recall, a total of 5,000 residents were hired during the first 100 days of Mayor Along through its local recruitment activities and mega job fairs.
“Dagdag pa po ang 269 na residenteng nabigyan natin ng trabaho sa nauna nating humigit na 5,000 taga-Caloocan na na-hire sa tulong ng ating local recruitment activity at mga mega job fair,” Ms. Gonzales said.
The said job fair was in partnership with 62 companies, 59 of which hires locally while three have openings for opportunities overseas. This includes SM Appliances, Savemore and Puregold, among others.
Residents were also able to process some government documents and requirements in the one-stop-shop with services from Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
