Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan, through the Public Service Employment Office, conducted a job induction program for 500 trainees under the free skills training program of Caloocan City Manpower Training Center (CCMTC).

According to the Mayor, the said program aims to orient them on how to apply for a job or start up their own small business through the skills they learned under the said program.

Mayor Along also stated that PESO shall also assist the trainees in preparation for their National Certificate (NC) II assessment to be conducted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

The application for the next batch of free training is still on-going and available courses include computer operations, automotive mechanics, welding, electronic servicing and motorcycle repair and maintenance. In addition, soft trade courses such as dressmaking, cosmetology, therapeutic massage and culinary are being offered as well.

According to PESO Officer-in-charge Violeta Gonzales, they will utilize a “blended” type of learning, comprised of both face-to-face and online classes throughout the duration of the training program.

The Mayor also announced that the said trainings shall be free of charge, open for all Caloocan residents, 17 years old and above with no age limit, including out-of-school youth, senior citizens, and solo parents.

This is in line with his advocacy, “lahat kasama,” emphasizing that he recognizes that not everyone can qualify for the positions in the city’s local recruitment activities.

The interested residents can apply at CCMTC Office-CCMTC Building, F. Roxas St., between 1st and 2nd Avenue and PESO Office-6/F, Caloocan City Hall-South and PESO Office-3/F Caloocan City Hall-North.
