Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan announced on Saturday, September 10, that the city government aims to celebrate an annual Children’s Day in the city to honor children and gear the city’s programs towards building a better community for them.
“Ang hangarin natin, taon-taon na magkaroon ng Children’s Day bilang tanda at paalala na rin na ang ating mga programa’y para sa magandang kinabukasan ng ating mga kabataan,” he said.
The Mayor likewise emphasized that the said event also marks the start of slowly transitioning from restrictions brought by the pandemic.
“Kasama po ang pagdiriwang na ito sa ating mga programa upang maiparamdam natin sa mga Batang Kankaloo ang pagbabalik sa normal ng ating pamumuhay matapos ang mahaba-habang panahon na limitado ang ating galaw dulot ng pandemya,” Mayor Along stated.
During the event, Mayor Along’s wife, Ms. Aubrey Malapitan, led the story-telling activity that aims to encourage the parents to bond with their children more through reading.
The children who participated enjoyed several activities including face painting, taking their photos at the photo booth, free snacks, vitamins and playing at the inflatable play park.
