Manila Water Co. Inc. holds a ceremonial signing of the usufruct agreement to set the ball rolling for the construction of the Hinulugang Taktak Sewage Treatment Plant in Antipolo City. Leading the signing ceremony are (from left) Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu, Manila Water president and chief executive Jose Rene Almendras, Antipolo City Mayor Andrea Ynares and Manila Water chief operating officer Abelardo Basilio. The project involves the construction of a 16-million liter per day STP and laying of six kilometers of sewer network lines. The sewerage system will help ensure wastewater from the community is cleaned before it is discharged to the Hinulugang Taktak Falls.
