Environment and natural resources officials led by Undersecretary Ernesto Adobo Jr. joined by local villagers release a batch of sea turtle hatchlings on a beach in Catanauan, Quezon. Biologists say only about one in 1,000 hatchlings survive to adulthood as most die of dehydration if they don’t make it to the sea fast enough, or not eaten by natural predators like birds, crabs, and other animals.
