Bears of care

Stuffed toy bears are lined up on a table at Bahay Pag-Asa in Biñan, Laguna ahead of their distribution to indigent children by SM City Santa Rosa through the mall’s ‘Bears of Joy’ program. It is SM Supermalls’ yearly Christmas charity project where a customer is encouraged to buy a pair of bears worth P200, with one to be taken home and the other is left for donation to charity.

The scene was repeated by SM City Rosario and SM City Trece Martires in Cavite alongside the distribution of relief goods to victims of Taal Volcano’s recent eruption, including 700 families who have moved to evacuation centers in Alfonso and Mendez towns.
