Luzon Hydro Corp., a wholly-owned unit of Aboitiz Power Corp., filed another petition to enjoin the municipality of Alilem, Ilocos Sur, from auctioning anew its real estate properties.
Luzon Hydro informed listed Aboitiz Power about the second petition for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction against Alilem.
The company filed the petition with the Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region Branch 25, Municipality of Tagudin, Ilocos Sur on December 12.
Luzon Hydro received a new notice of real property tax delinquency from the office of the municipal treasurer of Alilem, seeking to collect over P82 million in unpaid taxes and accrued penalties on seven properties covering 2004 to September 2019.
The municipal treasurer issued a notice of publication and auction sale covering five of the seven real properties and machineries.
Luzon Hydro owns the 70-megawatt Bakun AC run-of-river hydropower plant in Amilongan, Alilem, Ilocos Sur. The plant was constructed and operated under the government’s build-operate-transfer scheme.
