Aboitiz Power Corp. subsidiary AP Renewables Inc. will supply power to Nestle Philippines Inc. from its geothermal plants in Batangas province, allowing the  multinational firm to use renewable energy.

Nestle Philippines’ manufacturing facility in Lipa, Batangas switched to Cleanergy from the 458-megawatt MakBan Geothermal Power Plant of AP Renewables.

Nestle Philippines technical director Peter Winter said the partnership between the two firms “is a testament to the shared commitment of both companies to continually look for better and sustainable solutions to reduce their carbon footprint and protect the environment in a more sustainable manner.”

Antonio Moraza, Aboitiz Power president and chief operating officer, said that Aboitiz Power’s balanced mix portfolio guaranteed that consumers would have reliable, ample, and reasonably priced power for their needs.

“With the portfolio that we have and our commitment to sustained growth, we believe that Nestle and all our other customers can be served well,” Moraza said.
