ALLTV, the broadcast channel of the Villar family’s Advanced Media Broadcasting System, said Wednesday it signed a partnership agreement with Philippine Cable and Telecommunications Association Inc. to expand the network’s market reach.

ALLTV said in a statement the partnership would enable the network to be streamed to almost 300 more cable operators nationwide.

“The partnership of ALLTV and PCTA is very significant to us because it will allow us to reach more homes, even the far-flung areas in the country,” said AMBS president Maribeth Tolentino.

ALLTV is airing on Channel 2 on free TV and Planet Cable, Channel 35 on Sky or CignalTV, Channel 32 on GSAT, Channel 23 on Cablelink and Channel 2 on other cable TV providers.

“This collaboration between AMBS and PCTA is very timely and I’d like to say that cable TV still plays an important role as far as distributing content or programs like this as we are the last mile in delivering content to the most far-flung areas across the country,” said PCTA president Venancio Lo.

ALLTV early this month signed a content license partnership with CNN Philippines to boost its delivery of reliable news and timely information to Filipino viewers.

The National Telecommunications Commission awarded the frequencies of Channel 2, which was previously controlled by ABS-CBN Corp., to AMBS in January 2022.

The NTC ordered the closure of ABS-CBN in May 2020, after the Lopez-led network failed to secure a broadcast franchise extension from Congress.
