Coming from a rebound year in 2021, Kia Philippines aims to sustain sales momentum at 6,000 units in 2022, 60 percent higher from the 2021 full year sales of 3,798 units.

Company president Manny Aligada said the brand is banking on favorite models like the Stonic, Soluto, Selto and the new Kia Carnival launched Thursday.

“We are confident that 2022 will be much better and therefore we are looking at 6,000 brand new units. 2021 was an encouraging period for us as we deliver 76 growth rate (from 2020 sales). We will continue to do great things to improve our market share to 1.7 percent (in 2022),” he said during the virtual launch of Kia Carnival.

Despite the lingering pandemic, Kia’s market share in 2021 stood at 1.3 percent, with sales already catching up to pre-pandemic levels.

The brand is also bullish to expand its presence in the Philippines with plans to bring the number of dealerships to 46 by the end of 2022 from 39 dealers.
