Seiko Epson sees PH sales recovery

Seiko Epson Corp., a Japanese electronics company and manufacturer of computer printers, said sales in the Philippines are rebounding this year from a “significant dip” in demand last year because of the global pandemic.

Seiko Epson president Yasunori Ogawa told reporters in a virtual briefing the Philippines and other markets in Southeast Asia suffered a significant drop in demand around the start of the pandemic from April to September last year.

“However, I am pleased to say that it’s now recovered significantly in the Philippines and other markets around Southeast Asia, especially for our EcoTank printer products, which command a very high share in the Philippines and across the region,” Ogawa said.

“It’s almost approaching normal levels again now,” he said.

Ogawa said the company’s manufacturing plant in Batangas was operating normally despite the pandemic.
