San Miguel appoints Ang’s eldest son as director

Conglomerate San Miguel Corp. said Friday it appointed John Paul Ang, the eldest son of president and chief operating officer Ramon Ang, as director of the corporate.

Ang will fill the vacancy in the board after the untimely demise of Reynaldo David.  John Paul is the president and chief executive of Eagle Cement Corp., the listed cement firm owned by the Ang family.

“He brings with him years of top managerial experience in the cement industry in the Philippines and in Malaysia, beginning with experience business operations to top level management decision making, which experienced allowed to be equipped with the necessary skills to lead their cement business, which he helped grow into a being an industry leader that it is today,” San Miguel said.

John Paul, 40, graduated with a degrees of Bachelors of Arts Major in Interdisciplinary Studies Minor in Economics and Finance, from the Ateneo de Manila University.
