Okada Manila bares reopening of casino

Okada Manila will soon resume the operations of its gaming and hotel facilities at 30-percent capacity, its Japanese shareholder said Thursday.

Japan’s Universal Entertainment Corp., which controls Okada Manila, said in a statement posted on its website the temporary suspension on gaming operations issued by Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. on March 15 was partially lifted which would enable it to reopen its casino business.

“The temporary suspension of gaming business order issued by Pagcor on March 15, 2020 has been partially lifted. In response to this, Okada Manila will be partially operational,” Universal Entertainment said.

The company did not say the exact date for the reopening of the facility in Entertainment City in Paranaque City.

“We will thoroughly implement hygiene management protocols sugc as disinfect and cleaning according to the modes of operations of each facility, and strive to operate facilities that customers can enjoy at ease,” Universal Entertainment said.
