Eton Properties Philippines Inc., the property unit of beer and tobacco tycoon Lucio Tan, is looking expand its footprint in Central Visayas with the planned integrated township project in Mactan, Cebu.

Newly appointed EPPI president and chief executive Kyle Tan said in a statement the company had started to master plan a 35-hectare property in Lapu-Lapu City. The project will be a mixed-use development with residential and office facilities and amenities, mid-rise condominiums, upscale hotels and commercial and retail centers.

“We will make the best use of the site’s natural characteristics by preserving the natural environment while undertaking the multi-brand positioning for the future growth markets through various business segments. This project will be envisioned as the next business and leisure destination in one secured and exclusive community in Cebu,” Tan said.

Tan said the company’s move to expand its core businesses is a strategic move that would help drive the company’s growth for the next five to 10 years.

Tan said the project, which would have a 600-meter beachfront, would feature a harmonious integration of history, culture and modernity in a relaxing seaside lifestyle community.

He said EPPI would continue to expand its community components with the 641-hectare Eton City in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Tan said the company planned to add more office spaces within the development to take advantage of increasing demand from information technology and business process management sector.

EPPI will commission some of the world-renowned architectural firms to develop world-class and sustainable office buildings within the township.

“To add more office spaces is part of our pipeline to build momentum in achieving a multi-billion income target in the next five to 10 years. There are so many opportunities in Eton City, and we are willing to take our strategies to adapt to the global standards by incorporating digital technology, world-class designs, and connectivity into its communities,” said Tan.

Eton City is strategically located along South Luzon Expressway. It is envisioned to be the most preferred business tourism and residential district south of Metro Manila.

The township also has its own commercial and retail district, Eton City Square, with four residential villages such as TierraBela, West Wing Residences, South Lake Village and RiverBend.
