The Keepers acquires Island Mixers brand from Diageo PH

The Keepers Holdings Inc., the liquor unit of businessman Lucio Co, said Monday it acquired the Island Mixers brand from Diageo Philippines Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

he Keepers said in a stock exchange filing the acquisition, done through wholly-owned subsidiary Montosco Inc., is a part of strategy to expand its diverse spirits portfolio.

Island Mixers is a non-alcoholic cocktail mixer and a perfect accompaniment for gin, vodka, tequila and rum cocktails.

“The growing alcohol beverage industry and diverse spirits portfolio of The Keepers makes Island Mixers a fitting addition to its cocktail mixers lineup,” The Keepers said.

In keeping with its expansion plans, the brand Island Mixers is also being considered for expansion from the current Island Mixers lime variant into other mixing flavors and categories,” it said.

The Keepers also acquired 50 percent of Bodegas Williams & Humbert SA,  Bodegas Williams & Humbert in September 2022—a move that transformed the company from pure trading to liquor manufacturing and distribution.

Bodegas Williams & Humbert, a family-owned winery in Jerez de la Frontera founded 140 years ago, produces a wide variety of wine and spirits specially sherry and is the leading producer of light brandy. The company is also behind the Alfonso brand, the company’s biggest name in its portfolio of imported drinks.

The Keepers is the leading importer and distributor of world-class spirits, wines and related products in the Philippines including Alfonso, Johnnie Walker, Chivas Regal, Glenfiddich, Jose Cuervo, Jim Beam, Martell, Absolut, Red Bull and Jinro.
