DMCI Holdings Inc. (DMCI) and Semirara Mining and Power Corp. (SMPC) of the Consunji Group were included in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) for the second straight year.
Bloomberg GEI is a modified market capitalization-weighted index that aims to track the performance of public companies committed to transparency in gender-data reporting.
DMCI and SMPC were two of the four listed companies in the Philippines included in the 2022 roster that covers 418 firms across 45 countries and regions.
Member companies represent a variety of sectors, including financials, technology and utilities, which collectively have the highest company representation in the index.
“While our businesses belong to male-dominated industries, we do not distinguish roles and opportunities according to gender. We empower and promote people based on their individual merits and contributions to the organization,” said DMCI Holdings and SMPC chairman Isidro Consunji.
The 2022 GEI measures gender equality across five pillars: female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies and pro-women brand.
