Gardenia Bakeries Philippines Inc. said Wednesday it will invest another P2 billion in the country for a modern bread factory in Pampanga province this year.

Gardenia Bakeries Philippines president Simplicio Umali said the new facility would follow the P1-billion Mindanao bread plant currently undergoing construction. It will also be the company’s second-largest facility in the Philippines, next to its Laguna plant.

“Gardenia’s plant in Pampanga will feature robotics and fully automated bread manufacturing facility, untouched by hand. All equipment, machines, and baking technologies are sourced from the best baking equipment suppliers from all over the world including Europe, the USA, and Japan,” Umali said.

He said the fully automated, world-class bread manufacturing facility would rise on a four-hectare property in Teco Industrial Park in Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

Umali said the plant would serve the growing central and north Luzon market and ensure adequate bread supply in Metro Manila.

Strategically situated near North Luzon Expressway and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, Gardenia’s new plant in Teco industrial park would offer an efficient trade and distribution gateway to Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, and Cagayan Valley.

The P2-billion plant in Pampanga is also adjacent to major transportation hubs of Subic Sea Port, Clark International Airport, and Clark Global City.

“This new plant is accessible for direct logistics connections. With its strategic location, it can easily supply freshly-baked bread to North Luzon consumers and provide support to Metro Manila requirements,” said Umali.

He said the Pampanga factory would have a capacity of 200,000 loaves and buns per day.

“With the kind of technology and automation Gardenia utilizes, our valued consumers are assured of consistently high-quality products produced in a clean and sanitary environment,” Umali said.
