PNR Clark Phase 1 seen finished by 2024

The Department of Transportation said Wednesday it is on track to complete the construction of the P106-billion PNR Clark Phase 1 by 2024.

The agency said the overall progress rate of the Balagtas station of the PNR Clark Phase 1 (Tutuban-Malolos) was at 23.97 percent, while the Bocaue station was at 23.18 percent.

The PNR Clark 1 rail line will have 10 stations and will traverse the cities of Manila, Caloocan, Valenzuela, and Meycauayan and the municipalities of Marilao, Bocaue, Balagtas and Guiguinto and Malolos City.

Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said during the inspection of the PNR Clark 1 segment of the North-South Commuter Railway System the project would reduce the travel time between Malolos and Tutuban from one hour and 30 minutes to only 35 minutes. He said the project would create 7,500 jobs during construction period.
