The provincial government of Pangasinan presented the notice of award for the development, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a bulk water facility under a concession agreement to the consortium of Manila Water Company Inc. and wholly-owned subsidiary Manila Water Philippine Ventures Inc.

The consortium submitted in September 2016 an unsolicited proposal to Pangasinan province. After the initial evaluation of Pangasinan Public-Private Partnership Selection Committee, a notice of acceptance was issued in November 2018. Negotiations ensued and the joint certifications of successful negotiations were signed in July 2019.

Manila Water is expected to invest P8 billion over the 25-year contract duration for the implementation of capital expenditure programs that will increase water supply in the province.

Upon completion of conditions, Manila Water’s consortium will sign a concession agreement with the provincial government to implement the development of the bulk water supply project that will provide as much as 200 million liters of water per day by year 2025.
