State-run Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. said only two companies were allowed to operate online sabong in the country.
The clarification was made by PAGCOR chairman Andrea Domingo in a radio interview amid the proliferation of illegal e-sabong on the internet.
Domingo said Lucky 8 Starquest of Atong Ang and Belvedere Corp. of Bong Pineda were given licenses to operate sabong online after paying the performance bond of P75 million each. She said of the five groups that applied for license, only the two companies paid the performance bond.
Domingo said PAGCOR was coordinating with the Philippine National Police to arrest other online sabong sites which were operating without a license from the agency.
