Cauayan City, Isabela—The Department of Science and Technology Region 2 through Cagayan Valley Health and Development Consortium and Philippine Council Health Research and Development Consortium conducted a two-day operation planning workshop on Feb. 1 and 2, 2023.

The operational planning was conducted for the committee to have an in-depth understanding and key direction of CVHRD’s operation in 2023. This was also established in response to persistent clamors to localize solutions to health problems through research and development.

DOST Region 2 regional director Dr. Virginia G. Bilgera welcomed the participants and encouraged them to learn more about ways to collaborate, innovate, serve and understand the problem of the health sector.

“Let us redefine our approach and start recalibrating our priority goals to ensure that everyone, everywhere is able to enjoy the highest attainable standard of health,” she said.

“Think further, the opportunities are already in our table to bring high quality and specialized care to everyone,” she said.

The participants presented their operational plans on the second day.  They were grouped into various committees such as the governing board, capacity building committee, research ethics committee, research management committee, research utilization committee and structure organization monitoring and evaluation committee.

The workshop was attended by CVHRDC officials headed by executive director Julius Capili who presented the accomplishment report for the year 2022.  This was followed by the presentation of monitoring and evaluation report by the regional program officer of DOST-PCHRD-Institution Development Division.
