Online lifestyle destination and e-commerce pioneer Lazada kicked off the holiday shopping season with the recently concluded 11.11, offering the best deals and widest range of trendy products.
Customers turned their passions into actions by taking advantage of the platform’s 90-percent off Branded LazFlash Deals, fast and free shipping with no cap and minimum spend and stacked vouchers for big discounts.
“11.11 has become more than just a shopping tradition, it has become a part of consumers’ lifestyles as we all seek for the best deals and trendiest assortment. Just as importantly, it is also an avenue for brands and sellers to thrive and reach more customers,” said Lazada Phiippines chief executive Carlos Barerra.
Sales data from Lazada on the 11.11 promo showed that makeup orders increased seven times and fragrances ordered grew by six times compared to normal days. The best-selling skincare products were Vitamin C serum, Retinol and Tinted sunscreen.
Lazada said it also sold 11.4 million baby wipes in the first hour of the sale alone, as moms took advantage of the best 11.11 offers to stockpile baby essentials. This was equivalent to more than a month’s supply for all of Philippines’ newborns in a day.
Activewear was also a big hit as shoppers were seen to purchase 19 times more during the sale.
There was a 230-times rise in electronics sales, compared to a normal day. Filipinos seemed to snap up discounts for smart devices such as VR accessories, smart switches and watches with orders doubling year-on-year.
As shoppers added to cart, nearly 1,700 hours of content were streamed on the app via LazLive during the three-day sale. That’s equal to watching the longest film, The Cure for Insomnia 1987, 20 times,
Lazada said it stayed true to its commitment of fast delivery with the 1,111th item delivered at 11:45 a.m. of Nov. 11.
Lazada is holding its Sulit Sweldo Sale from Nov. 28 to Dec. 2.
