FINANCE Secretary Carlos Dominguez III assured China of the Philippines’ full support to the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and the Belt and Road program, saying these initiatives will benefit the countries in the region and result in a more comprehensive trade environment.
Dominguez thanked China for its generosity in supporting the Duterte administration’s ambitious infrastructure modernization program, noting that “over the past few years, we have developed numerous bilateral mechanisms that will allow closer coordination between our two countries across a broad range of issues and concerns.”
“There is much to look forward to in our trade and investment partnership. There is much ground for optimism in the vitality of this partnership,” Dominguez said at a briefing on the Philippine economy organized by the Bank of China at the Shangri-La, Pudong in Shanghai.
