Hyundai Asia Resources Inc., the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, recently launched the P2-billion Hyundai Assembly Center, the company’s foray into car manufacturing at Laguna Technopark in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Hari president and chief executive Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo said the company was optimistic the new investment would make way for more Hyundai vehicles to be manufactured locally.

“We take quality and excellence seriously at Hyundai. And it could not be more evident than in our operations at the Hyundai Assembly Center, where quality and excellence are a standard by which all workmanship is shaped. This is how we are able to guarantee seamless methods, efficient service, and products of superior value”•the very things that every Filipino deserves,” she said.

Perez-Agudo said seamless production and expert workmanship would be the hallmarks of the assembly plant, where over a hundred technical experts manning cutting-edge equipment would ensure the production of vehicles that conform to the highest quality standards.

Hari said the facility would be producing two models”•the top-selling Eon and the H350, a light commercial van that is versatile and classy.

Production of Eon started in March 2017 through a temporary leasing agreement with Star Motors Manufacturing.  Production of H359 will start assembly this month.

Hyundai expects to produce 10,000 units of Eon and 1,000 units of H350 in the first year of operation of the facility.

The company said with the opening of the assembly center, Filipino consumers would have a better access to their models of choice, while generating jobs and promoting skill enhancement.

It said the expansion of Hyundai’s business portfolio was expected to trigger a dramatic increase in passenger car and commercial vehicle sales and boost the growth of the automotive industry in Asean.
