BDO Unibank Inc., the country’s largest lender controlled by the Sy family, said Tuesday it is declaring cash dividend on common shares in the amount of P0.30 per share for the third quarter.

BDO said in a disclosure to the stock exchange the cash dividends would be sourced from surplus profits “as of December 2019 [net of previously issued dividends less capital adjustments per relevant regulations].”

Its board of directors approved the declaration of cash dividends in its regular meeting on Aug. 29, 2020. The dividends would be payable on Sept. 28, 2020 to all stockholders of record as of Sept. 15, 2020.

The bank earlier paid out P0.30-per-share cash dividend on common shares for first quarter 2020 and declared the same for the second quarter 2020 payable on June 29, 2020 to all stockholders of record as of June 17, 2020.

The bank’s net income hit a record P44.2 billion last year on the back of sustained strength in core businesses.
