China expressed interest to import more tropical fruits such as durian, mangosteen and frozen coconut meat from the Philippines.
China Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian said the Chinese preference for food was evolving and demand for exotic fruits was on top of the Chinese food preference.
“In the field of agriculture, the Philippines has advantages in tropical agriculture. China has rich experience in agricultural science and technology. China can provide technology and equipment for agriculture development of the Philippines,” he said at the 48th Philippine Business Conference and Expo.
The Philippine Sino Center for Agricultural Technology project phase 4 helps the Philippines increase agricultural production and enhance resilience to climate change. China has been the Philippines largest trading partner for six consecutive years.
