Damage to electric coops reach P183b

The National Electrification Administration reported that damage from 26 electric cooperatives due to typhoon Odette has reached P1.83 billion.

NEA said in its latest report that six ECs were still experiencing total power interruption, namely Bohol Electric Cooperative I and II, Cebu Electric Cooperative, Dinagat Island Electric Cooperative, Siargao Electric Cooperative and Southern Leyte Electric Cooperative.

Around 2.25 million customers continue to be affected by typhoon Odette from around 169 municipalities.

Around 19 ECs are experiencing partial power interruption while only Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative has yet to give its damage update to NEA.

Transmission operator National Grid Corp. of the Philippines, meanwhile, said it deployed 1,100 personnel to conduct restoration works for the remaining transmission facilities affected by Typhoon Odette.
