The Bureau of Internal Revenue said Thursday it filed a P206.56-million tax case against the sole proprietress of a Quezon City-based company that installs telecommunications equipment.

BIR filed the case before the Justice Department against Noreen Avila, the sole proprietress of La Saya Communication & Construction, for alleged failure to pay taxes under the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997, as amended (Tax Code).

Avila’s company, with registered address at No. 76C Kundiman Street, Paltok, Quezon City, is engaged in the business of installation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment.

Avila was sued for deficiency tax liabilities for taxable year 2008 in the aggregate amount of P206.56 million, inclusive of increments, consisting of P57.19 million in income tax and P149.37 million in value added tax.

BIR said it also filed a complaint against Goldian Finches Garments Corp. and its president Herminio Colico and treasurer Jenalyn Galboso for tax deficiency amounting to P49.4 million.  Goldian Finches Garments, a trading company with offices in Quezon City and San Juan City, is engaged in the business of buying, selling, distributing, marketing at wholesale or retail all kinds of goods, commodities, wares and merchandise.
