Since its debut 25 years ago, the RAV4  has endured the test of time, holding on to its distinct legacy as an off-road vehicle built for urban use.

Now on its fifth generation, the 2019 RAV4 is bruited about as having redefinied the crossover segment SUV with its augmented features, modern design and amplified performance, made possible by the Toyota New Global Architecture  – a platform that applies Toyota’s principles and technologies to improve its vehicles’ Agility, Stability, and Visibility.

“The all-new RAV4 is a car that embodies Toyota’s values – from its sporty design, powerful performance, and outstanding safety features. Built with the Toyota New Global Architecture, we can expect this SUV to deliver only the best driving experience,” said TMP president Satoru Suzuki during the official launch of the full model change RAV4.

Its lowered-center of gravity and high-rigidity body structure are just a few of the all-new RAV4’s features built upon the TNGA as it also features lower belt line, repositioned outer mirrors now mounted on the door, and thinner, low-set instrument panel that has sleek horizontal lines flowing into the door panels striving for outstanding driving visibility.

Also inspired by the TNGA platform, the new RAV4 is now equipped with a newly developed front and rear suspension for a supple ride with responsive handling and a new powerful 2.5L (A25A-

FKS) Dynamic Force Engine with Dual VVT-I with VVT-iE (Variable valve timing intelligent system by Electric motor) aiming for optimum performance and less fuel for combustion.

Paired with the new engine is a direct shift 8-speed automatic transmission, which features a multi-plate lock-up clutch that provides a wider lock up range allowing shifting and acceleration to be smoother and faster. Furthermore, the 8 speed also supports the transmission with more power and torque while accelerating from standstill, suppressing engine speeds at high speed cruising for quieter cabin.

Sporty exterior, refined interior

Now with full updated features and major design facelift, the  new RAV4 aims to highlight urban adventure at its finest. Styled with sportier design, the new RAV4 allows the driver to bravely take on the exciting roads at any time.

This embodies the robust yet luxurious design to which the RAV4 stands for. Accentuating its robust quality, the RAV4 is now faced with two-tiered upper and lower trapezoid-shaped grille that produces a wide and stable stance and provides a strong presence expected of an SUV.

In addition to its sportier facade, the new RAV4 features new alloy wheel designs in all configurations, regardless of whether customers choose the 17- or 18- inch option.

Interior wise, the new RAV4 now highlights user-friendly features and technology such as 7-inch multi-information display that can be switched between analog and digital display modes, wireless charger, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat with memory and lumbar support, and inside rear view mirror.

Going beyond the Toyota standard, the all-new RAV4 boasts with unparalleled safety features such as seven (7) airbags, 8-eye front & rear sensor, back-up camera, anti-lock brake system with emergency brake signal, and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) – completing the promise of a pleasurable driving experience with added peace of mind.
