MAN Automotive joins the bandwagon

Call it the Volkswagen effect.

MAN Automotive Concessionaires Corporation has just become the third company in the Philippines—after CW Home Depot and Diamond Rent-A-Car—to choose the Santana sub-compact sedan for its corporate fleet.

Last October, Volkswagen Philippines turned over Santana units to MACC—the exclusive Philippine importer, distributor and aftersales provider of MAN trucks and buses since 1989, maintaining the largest facilities of any MAN dealer in Asia with its two MAN Truck & Bus service centers.

Initially concentrating on supplying MAN buses to leading public transport companies, in recent years MACC introduced MAN trucks to the local market, serving premium quality heavy duty trucks to haulers and construction companies.

MACC’s worry-free experience for its customers is realized by a service team led by internationally trained MAN certified technicians who use computerized diagnostics to accurately determine the vehicles’ condition. MACC supplies only genuine MAN parts and also maintains a 95% availability to ensure ready supply for its customers.

In July, Volkswagen Philippines also turned over Santana units to the pioneering home construction and renovation store CW Home Depot for the use of its top sales performers. Then, also in October, another batch was acquired by the country’s largest car rental company Diamond Rent-A-Car.

The Volkswagen Santana is  powered by a  1.4-liter Multi-Point Injection (MPI) 4-cylinder gasoline engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, with maximum power output of 90 Ps at 5,500rpm and maximum torque of 132 Nm at 3,800rpm. For passenger comfort, the Santana features power outer mirrors, keyless entry and long wheelbase.

Safety highlights include ISOFIX anchorage points (mounting fixture for two child seats on rear seat bench), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and immobilizer. With an SRP of only P686,000, the Santana provides the opportunity for more hardworking Filipinos to experience the premium Volkswagen driving lifestyle, and motivating them to excel even more in their work.

Aside from the 3 years or 100,000-km general warranty, whichever comes first, Volkswagen Philippines also offers a 3-year warranty for paint and another 3-year warranty for through-corrosion of the main steel body structure.

The periodic maintenance service (PMS) interval schedule of the Santana is also structured for its owners’ convenience. The PMS interval is once a year, or every 10,000 kms, whichever comes first. This is more convenient and more cost-efficient compared to the industry-standard 5,000-km PMS interval, and thus also gives more time for the corporate team to focus more on servicing their customers’ needs than on their vehicles’ upkeep.
