Motul has reached the chequered flag first again and celebrates yet another championship victory. As the Motul NISMO Autech team took victory at the final round of the 2017 Super GT championship season at Twin Ring Motegi in Japan, the No.37 Lexus Tom’s Keeper car – with Motul’s support – this past weekend clinched 2017 GT500 championship title.
Ryo Hirakawa and Nick Cassidy rounded off the season with a second-place finish to become the youngest champions in the series’ history at just 23 years old, and awarded the Lexus marque with its third championship title in 5 years, all with the support of Motul. This represents a 5th year in a row championship for Motul supported teams.

The No.37 Lexus TOM’S KEEPER duo needed to finish in the top-two to claim the title, irrespective of how their rivals performed. Although they were no match to the victorious No.23 Nissan of Ronnie Quintarelli and Tsugio Matsuda, second place was enough to lift the crown.
Quintarelli and Matsuda finished second in the championship following their – and Nissan’s
– first victory of the season, ending two points behind Cassidy and Hirakawa in the final standings.
Both teams use products from Motul’s Motorsport Line as well as experimental lubricants that are specially developed by Motul, working closely with both factory teams.
