Honda rolls out upgraded Jazz and Mobilio

To say that Honda is on a roll is an understatement. After making headlines about the domestic release of the iconic Civic Type R, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), is introducing an upgraded version of its subcompact best seller, the Jazz and its dynamic people mover, the Mobilio.

First seen at the Gaikindo Autoshow in Indonesia last year, The 7-seater Multi-purpose Utility Vehicle (MUV) now comes with a bolder and sportier exterior, enhanced interior, and upgraded comfort and safety features that satisfy the Filipino families’ needs and expectations in an all-around vehicle.

The New Mobilio sports a bolder exterior with its redesigned front fascia characterized by a new front grille and headlights with LED Guide Type Position Lights that truly highlight Honda’s unique identity. The 1.5 V CVT and 1.5 E MT variants boast a new Chrome Front Grille complemented by newly-designed 15-inch Aluminum Alloy Wheels (for the 1.5 V CVT variant) for a tougher and stronger stance. The top-of-the-line New Mobilio 1.5 RS Navi variant is made even sportier with its new RS design Gloss Black Front Grille, and newly-designed 15-inch RS design Aluminum Alloy Wheels.

Inside, customers are welcomed with a new sophisticated dashboard packed with smart and functional controls. Furthermore, the New Mobilio retains a spacious cabin designed to comfortably accommodate a family of seven. The second row has 60:40 split folding seats that Slide, Recline, and features a One Touch Fold-to-Tumble function to create generous legroom and knee clearance as well as easy ingress and egress from the third row. Meanwhile, the third row has 50:50 Split folding seats that recline and has a Fold-to-Tumble back seats flexibility in accommodating different hauling needs.

The New Mobilio is powered by a 1.5-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine that produces 120PS at 6,600rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4,600rpm. The engine is mated to either a 5-speed Manual Transmission (for the E variant) or a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) developed under Earth Dreams Technology that delivers a dynamic and fuel efficient driving performance. Also new to the New Mobilio 1.5 RS Navi variant are Paddle Shifters that provide an even sportier driving experience.

New Jazz now has RS Variant 

Honda’s best selling Jazz also gets upgraded with a new “Rallye-Sport” variant. Enhanced with additional features and sporty updates, the New Jazz aims to give customers the traditional fun driving experience as well as utmost utility and convenience expected from a Honda. Further, the New Jazz will now have a 1.5 RS Navi variant that will gratify customers looking for a more sporty hatchback. The Jazz RS Navi variant comes with an exclusive sporty exterior design, which features new LED headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRL), RS-design Tailgate Spoiler, RS-design Front Bumper with Fog Lights, RS-design Rear Bumper, new Front Grille with RS emblem, Side Sill Garnish, 16-inch Gloss Black Aluminium Alloy Wheels and Gloss Black Side Mirrors that give it a more dynamic and aggressive exterior look. 

Other features of the new Jazz are the Touch Panel Automatic Air-Conditioning, Smart Entry with Push Start System, Paddle Shifters and additionally Cruise Control and Speed Sensing Auto Door Lock will be available with the 1.5 VX Navi CVT and 1.5 RS Navi CVT variants while Steering Wheel Audio Controls will be available for all CVT variants.

The New Jazz is powered by a 1.5Liter SOHC i-VTEC engine that produces a maximum power of 120 ps at 6,600 rpm and 14.8 kg-m of torque at 4,800 rpm. The engine is mated to either a 5-speed Manual Transmission (1.5 V MT) or Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) developed based on Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology. Both of which provide responsive performance, acceleration and improved fuel efficiency. All CVT variants also feature Honda’s Eco Assist System which consists of the ECON button and eco-coaching ambient meter to promote smart and fuel efficient driving habit.

The interior of the New Jazz 1.5 RS Navi variant features a new Seat Fabric Design, 3-Spoke Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel and Shift Knob – all of which are finished in Orange Stitching, giving it a sportier feel. To complement the overall sporty package of the New Jazz 1.5 RS Navi, comes in an exclusive  Phoenix Orange Pearl color. Price of the new Jazz starts at P799,000 for the entry level and P1,029,000 for the Jazz RS  and Mobilio RS Navi variants.
