Several passengers of Jetstar airline from Osaka, Japan on Monday were surprised to find out that their baggage were missing when they arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila.

As they line up to get their items at the conveyor assigned for Jetstar flight 3K764, there was a booth and a couple of staff waiting to inform them that their baggage were left behind because the cargo was too overweight for the plane.

The problem was the Jetstar plane crew failed to inform the passengers on board while the plane was about the depart from Osaka.

“Sana naman sinabi nila nung bago tayo umalis sa Osaka para we know what to expect. E hindi, pagdating dito saka pa lang sinabi. Sinong hindi magagalit sa ganun especially kung marami kang bagahe,” said passenger Claro Nereo Cruz.

Cruz said he paid about P16,000 for excess baggage, including those items requested by friends and office mates.

Norma Tan, a lady passenger and visiting from Japan, said she has a flight today (Tuesday) for General Santos City in Mindanao and could not cancel her flight just to wait for the unclaimed baggage.

“Ipapadala na lang daw sa Gensan bukas. Sana naman totoong mapapadala agad,” she said.
