Pasko na sa Shopee!
Last Nov. 11, or simply 11-11, Shopee kickstarted its biggest Christmas sale yet with bands Ben&Ben and Itchyworms, as well as the first ever Shopee Christmas Ambassador, Mr. Jose Mari Chan, treating joyful shoppers with their biggest hits!
Ben&Ben performed their latest single, Branches (studio ver.), followed by Bibingka, Maybe the Night, Kathang Isip and Ride Home.
“Ang music sa totoo lang, more than anything else, dapat ine-enjoy mo lang siya. 'Di mo iniisip kung… ‘Ay sisikat ba tong kantang to?’ or like… ‘Marami bang makakarelate dito?’ Kasi the less na isipin mo ‘yun, the more na magagawa mo siya,” answered Miguel Benjamin when asked what is their advice to those who also wanted to pursue music.
Meanwhile, the Itchyworms slammed the stage with live performances of Pariwara, Ayokong Tumanda, Di Na Muli, Akin Ka Na Lang, and Gusto Ko Lamang Sa Buhay.
Although they have been a well-known band here in the country, many people didn’t really know that they started as The Beatles’ and Eraserheads’ cover band.
“Goal niyo ba magkaroon ng the Itchyworms cover band?” asked Trixie, the events’ host.
“Okay lang basta matataba rin sila,” Jugs answered jokingly. “Para legit!”
And of course, the live jam wouldn’t be as meaningful if Mr. Jose Mari Chan didn’t serenade everyone with his very wonderful and never fading songs like A Perfect Christmas, Afraid For Love To Fade, A Love To Last A Lifetime, Christmas In Our Hearts and Please Be Careful With My Heart.
“I’m proud, I’m happy, and as my children say, ‘What? You’re going to endorse Shopee? Daddy, how old are you?’ But imagine, at my age I was asked to be an endorser of a major company and now because of social network, because of social media everyone knows about it. So what a wonderful and proud moment for me. Thank you,” replied Mr. Jose Mari Chan when asked how did it feel to be the first Shopee Christmas Ambassador.
