National Treasurer Rosalia de Leon executed her last Treasury Bills auction on Jan. 5, as she prepares to leave her job for a stint in the United States.

“I will be leaving next Monday, Jan 19,” she said.

De Leon, who was national treasurer from 2012, will take the position of an executive director in the World Bank board. She will represent countries under the emerging markets category and replace  former Philippine Treasurer Roberto Tan.

As World Bank’s executive director, Tan represented Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago in the multilateral agency’s board.

When De Leon leaves, an officer-in-charge will take over in the Bureau of Treasury until Tan regains the position.
