The Arellano University Lady Chiefs open their title defense as the National Collegiate Athletic Association Season 94 Women’s Volleyball Tournament gets underway on ABS-CBN S+A this Friday live from the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The opening ceremony beams live at 11 a.m. on S+A and S+A HD before curtains open with the Lady Chiefs’ initial test against the Jose Rizal University Lady Bombers at 12 noon.

NCAA Season 93 runner-up San Beda University Lady Red Spikers, meanwhile, take on this season’s host, University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Lady Altas.

The Lady Chiefs will now play without their leader Jovelyn Prado, who has used up all her years, and Andrea Marzan, leaving Season 93 Best Opposite Spiker and Finals MVP Regine Arocha to lead a new batch of Lady Chiefs against the Lady Bombers headed by Season 93 Best Outside Spiker Dolly Versoza and Karen Montojo.

SBU, meanwhile, heads into Season 94 as loaded as they can get in school history with the Viray twins, Jiezela and Nieza, back in harness with star Cesca Racracquin and dependable support player Satrianni Espiritu. They are in for a tough fight to prove that they are more than the hype against the Lady Altas, bannered by Maria Tripoli, Necelle Gual, and Cindy Imbo.

Apart from the live broadcast of the opening matches, highlights of the games will be featured on ABS-CBN S+A’s “The Score,” while the semifinals and finals will also be aired live. Elimination games, on the other hand, will be livestreamed on sports.abs-cbn.com and the ABS-CBN Sports Youtube.
