The 34-year-old Baguio City native is set to battle the Singaporean knockout artist for the vacant ONE Lightweight World Title in the co-main event of ONE: CONQUEST OF CHAMPIONS on Friday, 23 November at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.

With a wealth of experience under his belt as a professional mixed martial artist for eleven years, Folayang has prepared for anything and everything that Khan might try inside the cage.

"Training camp was good. Our preparation went really well. We are getting ready for all possible game plans against me, including takedowns and even striking," he said.

"We've had adjustments in training for this camp. He can use the same game plan with Honorio Banario, so we have to be very careful going to the ground," Folayang added.

Khan is coming off a first-round submission victory over Folayang's teammate Honorio Banario this past September in the co-main event of ONE: BEYOND THE HORIZON.

The young lion proved in his last outing that he is capable of finishing a contest on his feet or on the mat.

Despite the vastly-improving ground game of Khan, Folayang seems that he is not bothered by it, suggesting that he is comfortable wherever the bout goes.

"This bout either goes to striking or on the ground. I've fought similar athletes in my experience. His bread and butter is still striking, so I expect the bout to go that way," he mentioned.

In August, Folayang flew to the United States in an attempt to bolster his arsenal by training at the world-renowned Jackson-Wink MMA.

While he won't fully disclose the new techniques that he had learned by training overseas, Folayang assured that it was beneficial for his growth as a martial artist.

"I've learned many things from training in the US. At Jackson-Wink, I've sparred with plenty of strikers that enhanced my confidence. It boosted my self-belief when I went there," he stated. “You will see a new and improved Eduard Folayang.”
