The 12-year-old Mojdeh came off a tiring and hectic schedule with her fifth gold medal–her 37th overall since the start of the year after she topped the 13-15 year old, 200-meter girls’ butterfly event at the end of Day 4.

On the other hand, the 12-year-old Tom claimed a fifth gold medal for Cainta, Rizal, snaring the 12-under girls’ 50-meter freestyle action with a personal best of 29.46 seconds.

Both joined the Mark Bryan Dulas as the most bemedalled athletes of the games.

The 12-year-old Dulas took golds for Paranaque in the 50-meter backstroke, the 200-meter and 100-meter backstroke and 100m and 50m butterfly in boys’ 12-under.

Mojdeh’s clocking of 2 minutes and 35.74 seconds kept her within range of her goals, giving Team Paranaque a fourth gold medal at the old Isabela Sports Complex pool.

“Dahil pagod po ako, habol ko lang iyung time na iyun. Iyung below that time sa Palarong Pambansa ko na lang po gagawin iyun,” said the eighth grader at the Immaculate Heart of Mary College-Paranaque, who is getting ready to meet older rivals in the secondary level.

Mojdeh, who outpaced Mariah Ubaldo of Laguna by some 13 seconds and Maglia Dignadice of Puerto Princesa, came up with a two-gold haul in the 200m and the 400m individual medley in Day 1.

On Day 2, Mojdeh got two more after winning the 100m butterfly in 1:06.30 and 50m fly in 30.44 to increase her total to four.

Since the beginning of the year, Mojdeh has had two age-group campaigns in Japan and China and has joined four local meets as well. She qualified in four individual events in the Palaro as well.

Tom, a Grade 6 student from International Learning Academy, came in by more than two seconds ahead of Laguna’s Quantrella Wangkay of Laguna, exceeding her coach Jaime Villa’s expectations.

“I just improved on my time and enjoyed this race,” said Tom, who slowed down in the last five meters after she nearly lost coordination with her leg movements while trying to increase her pace in the final stretches.

Tom’s other golds were in the 50-meter backstroke, the 200-meter individual medley honors, the 100-m freestyle mint and the 50-meter backstroke gold.

In athletics, Zambales bet Janine Ledina added a second gold to her collection after she ruled the girls’ discus throw. She earlier took the gold in the javelin throw.

Aidan Raguine of Pangasinan City claimed the men’s long jump gold, while Erica Ruto dominated the girls 100-meter run.

Laguna Province scored a double victory in the 2000m steeplechase event as James Bryle Ballester and Magvrylle Chrause Matchino prevailed in the boys’ and girls’ categories, respectively.

In archery, Pangasinan took three golds, with one off Dinna Medina, who topped the 60-meter event of the girls individual cadet. The other two came from Zhyrinne Bastasa (1440 meter qualification round of the girls cadet), and from Jershey Salem(1440 meter qualification round of the boys’ cadet).

Baguio City, which is in the overall lead, topped the boys’ individual cub level behind Alon Jucutan, Phoebe Caluza (girls’ team bowman) and Earl Calera (boys’ team cadet).”‹
