FEA Frances Elleine Arguelles of NOHS Altruists captured the women’s singles’ national division and the 17-and-under girls’ crowns of the Negros Occidental Super League 2018 Table Tennis Tournament recently at the SM City Bacolod and City Mall in Mandalagan in Bacolod City.
Arguelles beat Marieala Mabaquiao of USLS/LOPTTA, 3-2, to win the singles’ title before defeating Ma. Angela Puentespina, also of NOHS Altruists, 3-1, to claim the 17-and-under singles’ crown.
University of Santo Tomas and LOPTTA Joshua Castro bested Matthew Tolentino of LOPTTA, 3-0, to take home the men’s national division title of the tournament sanctioned by the Philippine Table Tennis Federation Inc., headed by President Ting Ledesma.
Joshua Castro of UST/LOPTTA bagged the Country/Regional and Varsity division titles by winning over Richard Emperado of PNP in the finals.
Menchie Kate Dizon of Sigma-LP won the 7-and-under girls’ title after beating first runner up Shaira Puentespina of Altruist. Danielle Akisha De Leon settled for second runner-up also in that division.
Other champions were Sheryl Mae Otanes of LOPTTA (Casual and Intermediate divisions); Uzziel Urim Geraldoy of Augustea (Beginners).
