Holding a 2-0 lead, the Beermen are looking for the dagger and sweep against the desperate Elasto Painters in Game 3 at 7 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum tonight.

San Miguel has been on a roll, carrying a four-game winning streak dating back to the quarterfinals.

Beermen coach Leo Austria believes that as long as his team keeps its fine play, it will have a good shot at getting back to the finals.

“If we continue to play the way we’ve been playing with everybody stepping up, it’s going to be hard to beat us and we can return to the finals, hopefully,” said Austria.

Chris Ross showed that he is now in his playoffs element.

The do-it-all guard dropped a game-high 34 points, with 10 triples on only 16 attempts, as he shot the lights out to lead the Beermen to a 117-105 rout of the Elasto Painters in Game 2 Monday night to take a commanding series lead.

What made Ross’ dazzling display of shooting and San Miguel’s Game 2 victory more memorable was the fact that SMB trailed as much as 29 points in the first half.

The Beermen fell into a big hole early on but led by Ross fought their way back to make sure they move a game away from the finals.

The Elasto Painters now need to win three straight to make the finals.
