Trinity, SBC post similar big wins

HOST Trinity University of Asia  and San Beda College posted victories in similar fashion to continue their wining streak in their respective groups in the elimination round of the Manila Brotherhood Basketball League Association, Inc. School and Club Division at the Trinity University of Asia Gym in Quezon City,

   Streak-shooter Bernard de Guia found his mark in the early goings, firing relentlessly from the outside as Trinity posted a commanding 39-16 lead against De La Salle-Zobel in the Under-17 class of the league, organized by MBBLAI president Erick Kirong of Macway Travel.

    Denden Sequitin Jr. and Jay R Carrera, who added 15 and 13 each, mauled DLSZ in third and in the final quarter, highlighted by a four-point play by Jerome Dimalanta for Trinity’s biggest lead, a 40-point lead bubble at 62-22 in under 8 minutes en route to a 77-37 victory, their fourth straight in the eliminations.

    Prince Alao of San Beda College used his court generalship in leading the Red Cubs’ 89-33 demolition of M. Dragons for the Lions’ fourth straight win in the 14-under category.

  In the curtain-raiser, the Warriors defeated Bulacan Dreamers ,74-60, in the 12-under Club, while La Salle won over the Caloocan Supremos in the 17-under.

  National University prevailed over College of St. Benilde College, 75-42, in 14-under nightcap.
