The group behind I, Tonya, with its three Oscar nominations, must be proud to skate through the challenging tasks to garner any or all of the trophies for Best Actress for Margot Robbie, Best Supporting Actress for Allison Janney, and Best Editing for Tatiana S. Rigel.

Based on the unbelievable but true events, I, Tonyais a darkly comedic tale of American figure skater, Tonya Harding, and one of the most sensational scandals in the sports history. Though Harding had dominated the ice with unrivaled athleticism, and the first American woman who completed a triple axel in the competition, her legacy was forever defined by her association with an infamous, ill-conceived, and even more poorly-executed attack on fellow Olympic competitor Nancy Kerrigan.

Featuring an iconic turn by Margot Robbie (one of the film’s producers is known for her Harley Quinn’s role in Suicide Squad; and next as Queen Elizabeth in Mary Queen of Scotsas the fiery Harding; the mustachioed Sebastian Stan(known for his Marvel’s character, Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier in the smash hit Captain America: Civil War) as her impetuous husband Jeff Gillooly; and the tour-de-force performance by Allison Janney (with 7 Emmy Awards tucked under her sleeves and an unforgettable performance in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children) as her acid-tongued mother, LaVona Golden; and an original screenplay Steven Rogers.

Director Craig Gillespie’sI, Tonyais a tragic and hilarious, absurd and irreverent, and a controversial and shattering portrayal of Harding’s life and career in all of its glory — unchecked and checkered.

I, Tonya will be shown in various theaters nationwide tomorrow. The film is a exclusively distributed by Solar Entertainment.
