According to retired Vice Admiral Eduardo Ma. Santos, president and chairman of the Citizens Support Your Navy Foundation, marines from all over the country who were surveyed to find out what supplies and support they need the most ranked access to TV and entertainment among their topmost requests.

“Our marines are deployed for months at a time in these far-off islands, and rely on solar power and generators,” he said. “They are cut-off from their families and have to battle the elements like strong winds, rains, and harsh sun. They have basic supplies, but donations like these help uplift their morale while on assignment to remote islands.”
