Darren Espanto signs up with MCA Music

He has been called “The Total Performer” during his stint at the ABS-CBN contest The Voice Kids and has been likened to top artists in the country like Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera. Though he may not have grabbed The Voice Kids crown (he was a runner-up), so many opportunities still opened up for this talented kid named Darren Espanto.

One of them is being part of the multi-national record label MCA Music (Universal Music Philippines) where he recently signed a record and management deal. Present during the contract signing were MCA Music’s Artist Manager Sammy Samaniego, Senior OPM Label Manager Neil Gregorio, Darren Espanto, President Ricky R. Ilacad, OPM Marketing Manager Mark Bonifacio and Publishing Manager Evelyn Seale. Darren is now a part of MCA Music’s growing OPM artists roster which includes Sitti, Nyoy Volante, Sabrina, Mitoy Yonting, Pupil, Klarisse De Guzman, Urbandub and many more. MCA Music is also home to the biggest international recording artists like Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Lorde, Eminem, Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Robin Thicke, Sting, Demi Lovato, Zedd and Selina Gomez among others.

He will be releasing his debut album entitled Darren and will be first available on Dec. 6 during The Voice Kids All In Concert at the PICC Plenary Hall. The concert also features The Voice Kids winner Lyca Gairanod and finalists Juan Karlos Labajo and Darlene Vibares with special guests The Voice of the Philippines Season 1 Grand Champion Mitoy Yonting, The Voice of the Philippines runner-up Klarisse De Guzman and The Voice Kids semi-finalists TonTon Cabiles and Edray Teodoro.
